My Journey To Conquering the 75 Hard Challenge

In a world where health and wellness trends come and go like fleeting fads, the 75 Hard Challenge stands out as a rigorous test of discipline and dedication. Originating from entrepreneur Andy Frisella, this challenge is a tough one. It demands a commitment to daily habits aimed at transforming both body and mind. Today, I'll talk about what the 75 Hard Challenge is , and discuss my personal journey as a Traverse City photographer who has been embracing this challenge wholeheartedly.

What is the 75 Hard Challenge?

At its core, the 75 Hard Challenge is a mental toughness program designed to cultivate resilience, self-discipline, and grit. The rules are straightforward but non-negotiable:

  1. Follow a strict diet with no cheat meals.

  2. Exercise twice a day for at least 45 minutes each session, with one workout being outdoors.

  3. Drink one gallon of water daily.

  4. Read 10 pages of a non-fiction book each day.

  5. Take a progress picture every day.

These rules may seem simple at first glance, but adhering to them consistently for 75 days straight is anything but easy. It's a test of character and commitment, pushing participants to confront their limitations and break through barriers.

Embracing the Challenge: A Personal Journey

For our Traverse City photographer, let's call her Sarah, the decision to take on the 75 Hard Challenge stemmed from a desire for holistic wellness. She recognized the need to prioritize her physical health, mental well-being, and creative growth. Here are some of Sarah's key takeaways from her journey:

1. Embracing Outdoor Time with Family

My daily outdoor stroller walks with my daughter have quickly become cherished moments of connection and rejuvenation in just the first week of this challenge. We've been soaking in the sunshine, relishing the beauty of nature while bonding with my little one. These walks not only fulfilled the challenge requirement but also enriched our quality of life, reminding me of the importance of family and the healing power of nature.

2. Pushing Limits at CrossFit Due North

I have done CrossFit for 10 years so this part of my day hasn't changed much. However, CrossFit workouts at CrossFit Due North continually push me beyond my comfort zone, challenging my strength, endurance, and mental strength. Also, sweating it out alongside some really great people and coaches is something I look forward to every day. As I mentioned, I have been in the fitness space for over 10 years, and I can honestly say that CrossFit Due North is the best CrossFit affiliate I have every been a part of. Im constantly blown away by the coaching staff, and the incredible members.

Aside from that, through CrossFit I have discovered a sense of resilience and empowerment from starting CrossFit. Each session is an opportunity to push past these self-imposed limitations and unlock my full potential.

3. Nourishing Mind and Soul Through Reading

My first read in this challenge is "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. This book provides daily doses of inspiration and creativity for me and my business which I am really grateful for. Through Cameron's insightful words, she helps others on a journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration. By committing to read 10 pages every day, I've been really nurturing my mind and soul, fueling my passion for photography and unlocking a fresh perspective.

4. Fueling the Body with Nutrient-Rich Foods

As a photographer, I understand the importance of nourishing my body from within. I've been embracing a clean, nutrient-rich diet, steering clear of sugar and processed foods.

5. Hydration as a Cornerstone of Wellness

My trusty YETI tumbler has made hydration really easy. I have to drink 3 of them a day which totals a gallon of water. I try to break this up after every task I complete throughout the day, I take a big drink of water. Hydration is a huge part of wellness, and something I have been struggling with lately. I've noticed this first week it has helped me stay energized and have improved my overall well-being.

Conclusion

For me, the 75 Hard Challenge isn't just about physical transformation; it's a journey of self-discovery, growth, and resilience. Especially for myself being a Traverse City photographer, I'm hoping this is a transformative experience that becomes much more than just a fitness challenge. By embracing outdoor adventures, pushing my limits at the gym, improving my mind and body, and staying hydrated, I want to emerge stronger, wiser, and more creative than ever before.

As I continue on this journey, I'll be sharing my experiences on social media. Id love for you to follow along!
